AAC Philippines

'Autoclaved Aerated Concrete' or AAC

Latest News 2010

In the UK (England) all new houses and commercial buildings have to be (by law) insulated so that in the winter not so many energy for heating the house is needed, and in the summer not so many energy for cooling the house is needed. This saves energy and therefore saves the world's nature ('Green Building').

Other governments (also Philippines) will likely follow this trend in the near future: INSULATION.

Insulated walls keep the heat (and noise) outside and will save you on aircon-bills.

Will a AAC-building last as long as other buildings?

Yes. In fact it will last longer. The durability of AAC has been proven in every type of climate in the world for over 75 years.
There are numerous structures in many different climates worldwide, many over 75 years old, in excellent condition. AAC will not rot, warp, rust, corrode, or otherwise decompose. Termites and other pests do not eat it. AAC will not burn.

AAC has withstood earthquakes in Japan, the frigid temperatures of northern Europe, the harsh salt air of the French Riveria, and the hillside fires of San Fransisco.

The 1995 earthquake in Kobe, Japan, also demonstrates the durability of this construction method. Over 5,000 homes in Kobe built with 'Autoclaved Aerated Concrete' withstood this massive quake with no damage whatsoever. The other homes were all leveled by the earthquake or destroyed by the fires that followed.

Is AAC a new product?

No. AAC was first commercially produced in 1923 in Sweden. Since then, AAC have been used on all continents and every climatic condition. Today AAC is used all over the world in places such as the Far East (Japan, Australia, South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand), in the Middle East (Israel, Kuwait and Turkey), in Europe (Germany, France, Netherlands, Italy, Greece, Belgium, Switzerland) and in both North and South Americas (United States, Mexico, Chile, Brazil and Argentina).
Philippines is now added to this list.

Is AAC better than wood and concrete?

Yes. AAC outperforms concrete and wood and is the only durable, structural, thermal and fire rated material 'all-in-one' product.

You can build a house in the Philippines using these blocks made of concrete with millions of small, finely-dispersed air spaces inside; its so light that it floats on water BUT it does not let water penetrate nor hold the water and it is still 'load-bearing' strong.
Its porous internal structure is comprised of 60-70% air, making it the building-material with the highest insulating value in the construction-industry.

Advantages are therefore that it leaves the heat and street-noise outside your house; save money on aircon-bills AND because it is very light in weight the basic structure of the house can be made lighter also.

Millions of small, finely-dispersed air spaces inside; weight is 1/5 of ordinary concrete...

Withstands Hurricanes & Earthquakes

It is a VERSITILE building material; from basement to roof.

The reinforced elements, such as floor panels, wall panels, and load-bearing lintels contain steel reinforcement mesh that is treated for corrosion with a water based acrylic paint.

A robust supporting steel-frame to bear loads from all sides.

All required utility lines will be routed into the blocks/panels and backfilled prior to applying an interior or exterior finishing coat.

Also perfect for subdivisions, resorts, mass-housing, schools, hotels, call-center, church, hospital etc.
