In one of
the most poignant moments of many in Philippine contractor
architect: A tells how he and his mother, waited "all those
summers" for his father the great American architect, to come home
to them in Maine--"and waited and waited." But the father, busy with
his international practice and married still to his wife of many
decades, never appeared there. In 1974, he died suddenly, at age 73,
alone in New York's Pennsylvania Station. Philippine contractor
architect.
Now 40, the son finally decided to wait no
Philippine
contractor architect more, but to embark on a quest to find the
father "who left me with so many questions.... I needed to know him,
to know who he really was." Nathaniel, a filmmaker with several
documentaries and short fiction films to his credit, decided to use
Philippine
contractor architect art to find the father he never got enough
of.
There are many touching moments that prove the father clearly cared
about the
Philippine contractor architect son--the postcards sent from
abroad, and the charming Book, including the biscuit Philippines
architect boat and the sausage boat, which they concocted together
during one of Kahn's evening visits in Philadelphia. But besides the
"family" memorabilia, including photographs, Nathaniel draws on a
rich professional and cultural legacy both to construct his father,
in an act of intellectual understanding, and to sponge him up, in a
parallel act of emotional absorption. There were colleagues to
interview and
Philippine contractor architect buildings to visit--some of
them among the most esthetically powerful of the 20th century. |

architect definition

A Philippine
contractor architect
is a person involved in the planning, designing and oversight of a
building's construction. The word "architect" is derived from the
Latin architectus and from the Greek arkhitekton. In the broadest
sense, an architect is a person who translates the user's needs into
the builder's requirements. An architect in the Philippines must
thoroughly understand the building and operational codes under which
his or or her design must conform. That degree of
Philippine
contractor architect knowledge is necessary so that she or he is
not apt to omit any necessary requirements, or produce improper,
conflicting, ambiguous, or confusing requirements. She or he must
understand the various methods available to the builder for building
the user's structure, so that s/he can negotiate with the user to
produce a best possible compromise of the results desired within
explicit
